CellarDoor@Coogee - Wine Dinner - The Iconic Tyrrell's Wines, Hunter Valley

  • Coogee Wine Room 222 Coogee Bay Road Coogee, NSW, 2034 Australia (map)

You're invited to a special evening with Chris Tyrrell, fifth generation of the iconic Tyrrell winemaking family, where he will take us on a tasting journey of their premium wines, focusing on semillon, chardonnay and shiraz, including the much-lauded Vat 1 Semillon. Chris will be sharing, "What they are doing and where Tyrrells is going" including the rich history of 150 years of winemaking and how the new generation is looking at future proofing and sustainability in a multi generational wine business.

In recent years, Chris and the rest of Tyrrell’s winemaking team have focused heavily on improving, and in some cases reinventing, their classic regional styles and single-vineyard wines. Specifically, they’ve been looking at ways to evolve Tyrrell’s flagship Semillon and Shiraz wines from the family estate, which is home to some of the world’s oldest vineyards.

Chris is an active judge on the Australian wine show circuit and currently serves as a director on the board of the Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association. He has also completed the Winemakers’ Federation of Australia “Future Leaders” program, which focuses on developing the next generation of Australian wine industry leaders.

Join us as we enjoy a night of iconic wines with a carefully curated 4-course menu created by Greg Humphry that will perfectly pair with Tyrrell's wines.
