OUR FIRST THREE MONTHS

Dear friends,

It’s hard to believe that it has been three months since we launched Coogee Wine Room – time sure does fly when you are having fun. And what fun it has been to launch a project that we dreamt about for so long. We love bumping into friends when we drop in for a wine, we love the venue’s wonderful atmosphere, recently enhanced with the addition of outdoor dining, we love watching our wonderful team of staff provide friendly and  knowledgable service to our guests and we still love flicking through the wine list and finding a bottle or two that bring back special memories or starts the formation of new ones. So far the 1989 Cyril Henschke that we opened on NRL Grand Final day has been the highlight.

As Christmas approaches and we prepare ourselves for the influx of visitors to our gorgeous beach, we wanted to say thank you to our many loyal supporters who have made Coogee Wine Room such a success in such a short period. To those of you who regularly stop by for a wine or meal, bringing friends and family to enjoy the experience, we say thank you. To those to have arranged large group bookings with friends, thank you – it gives us so much joy to see big groups of friends sitting down to share great food and wine together. And if you have tried us out once or twice, thanks for giving us a go, and a really big thank you to those who have taken a moment to post online reviews about their experience at CWR.

And of course, where would we be without our wonderful chef Sandro di Marino and his awesome kitchen team – the food has been fantastic and we love the way it is constantly evolving as the seasons change.

If there is one common theme from all the wonderful reviews we have received – it is the professionalism, friendliness, and helpfulness of our staff, so thank you to our venue manager Brooke, for being brave enough to jump onto a ship that you had no idea would even float, and for filling it with a cracking team of sailors that has made it fly.

We have big plans for 2020 to enhance the food and wine experience by bringing winemakers and food suppliers into host dinners, masterclasses and “cellar door in Coogee” events.

For NYE this year, we are hosting a special dinner upstairs that we’d love to see you at, the details of which can be found on the events page of our website.
