Coogee Wine Room is Coogee’s first wine bar, a space where locals and visitors can come together to drink and eat amongst friends. With more than 400 wines from around the world on the list and a Mediterranean-inspired menu of small and shared plates, there is something for everyone.
Local owners Tom Hardwick and Michelle Morales have created a venue that marries the charm of great European wine bars with the convivial atmosphere you want from your neighbourhood bar, right in the heart of the stunning Coogee Beach.
Coogee Wine Room is spread across two levels, offering guests a range of environments to enjoy fine wine, food and company, whether that be perched at the front window or bar, dining casually on the ground floor, relaxing upstairs in the cosy lounge or enjoying fine wine in the upstairs dining room.
BHATIA DHEERAJ, VENUE MANAGER
Bhatia is one of Australia’s leading sommeliers, having held roles as the Head Sommelier at Est Restaurant in Sydney, Penfold’s Magill Estate Restaurant in Adelaide and has prior international experience in leading hotels in Macao, Hong Kong and Singapore. At Est in 2019, Bhatia won Australia’s Wine List of the Year in 2019 and the Judy Hirst award for the Sommelier of the Year.
SANDRO DI MARINO, HEAD CHEF
Sandro, originally from Abruzzo, Italy, worked at restaurants in Italy, Switzerland, England and America before he came to Australia in 2009.
He has spent the past 8 years with the A Tavola group, including stints as Head Chef at their Darlinghurst, Bondi Beach and Surry Hills restaurants.
